"This EP is awesome. Very accomplished playing and the production is crystal clear.
The song writing is intelligent yet full of catchy and memorable moments.
I will most certainly come back to this EP for more listening enjoyment
and look forward to hearing new releases from this great band."
~Nima Hedayati, Metal Shock Finland~
~Chris, Wings of Death~
"the emphasis is solely on tempered flow, subtle atmosphere and the construction of actual songs (not just a succession of rapid riffs and notes).
Much like fellow countrymen textures, these guys never allow sheer technicality to trump coherency.
~Neil, Metal Observer~
"They started in June and are now releasing it in November 2012.
That's more than a month a song! Wow! The longest I've ever spent in a studio was a day!"
"I didn't even know there was such a thing as Progressive Metal, but you know what? I'm a big fan!"
"So there you have it. I'm a convert. Fanastic stuff! Well done to Luuk and the boys.
I wonder how long it will be before I'm told that I can't play music in the house again?"

Hologram Earth is a progressive metal band from Amsterdam and Ede (the Netherlands). The band was formed in late 2011 by Thomas (guitar), Luuk (drums) and Asher (bass). Vocalist Michiel was recruited shortly after. The writing of the songs for the debut EP was well underway by then and Hologram Earth started recording drums in May 2012. The goal was to release an EP that demonstrated the Hologram Earth style before playing live gigs.
As the EP was finished in late October, Hologram Earth concluded that they needed a second guitar player to perform the multi-layered songs on stage. Luckily guitarist Steven joined the band and that made Hologram Earth ready for the road. The band’s first live performance in November 2012 was an energetic and inspiring event and a showcase of their talent and motivation.
Thomas and Asher are currently studying Sound Design in Amsterdam, which helps developing the band’s unique sound. Additionally Luuk's experience with electronic and percussion instruments, Steven's flexible and clean playing style and Michiel’s natural talent for entertainment, make this band fit together like a jigsaw.
Influences range from metal bands such as Meshuggah and Textures, as well as lesser-known bands like Vildhjarta, Uneven Structure and Chimp Spanner. With these in mind, Hologram Earth gives their own twist to Progressive metal.
Hologram Earth is looking forward to writing songs and kicking ass on stage!
Hologram Earth is:

Steven Hulshof - Guitar

Hologram Earth is:

Facing Creation
You don't seem to understand
There is no God
You don't focus
fear your god
Facing Creation
Files Corrupt
The sequence of
your programmed life has been created
Total judgement, imprison your mind
It's your writer
who judges you
Full of fear you pray to your god
who doesn't exist
Just accept your life as it is
or be no more
your darkest and deepest mind, you find solution, in suicide
Facing Creation
You don't seem to understand
There is no God
files corrupt
Reborn
Life in a maze
Unknown till the end of days
A repetition of variation
through all layers of civilization
A city of people
Who all try to find their place
No underlying pattern
To this human rat race
Who created this play
of survival of the fittest
what common goal do we have
besides all our competition
An absolute fate awaits
these giant abstract structures
industrial wastes
as scares on the surface
.. can we avoid
this great malfunction
Is there a bigger plan
that awaits our destruction
You created this play
No underlying pattern
To this human rat race
A sphere of blue and green that carries living matter
A neverending hunger of this graveyard planet
where soil devours flesh and plants suck up, suck up blood
Birth is now the day that you became
A prisoner of his endless quest
Where you are just a puppet 'til he finishes, he finishes the game
Growing in size no one remains,
Feasting upon flesh and rivers run red,
carnivorious soil,
Using earthquakes to collect,
tsunamis to clean stains
there is no way out, he is not finished yet
Mass murder, a tool to stockpile for a cold day
War, a technique to quench the thirst
Add suicide, for the extra taste of salty sadness
All are dreadful occupations in a certain way
The biggest urge of humankind is to survive and multiply
A thing one must not do to keep this guy alive
Don't burn your bodies 'cause then you'll make a hash
You'll fertilize its soil with fresh collected ash
One wish, Deception
Fading into obsanity
Father
Serpent
A restless soul
Solitary built inside your DNA
The bleakest part of your brain
Suffering the only way
Insomnia, no sleep today
Distortion of reality
Insomnia, Death a better way
Dichotomized, Dichotomized
DOWNWARD
SPIRAL
INSANITY
Solitary built inside your DNA
The bleakest part of your brain
Existence DICHOTOMIZED
Perception DICHOTOMIZED
Reality DICHOTOMIZED
